Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what personal data nathanhesketh.com collects, why, and your rights under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible for your data

This website and mailing list are run by the author writing as Nathan Hesketh. Contact: Nathan@nathanhesketh.com.

What we collect

If you join the mailing list, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We also record when and how you signed up, as proof of your consent.

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the sign-up form is loaded from Kit. Both may receive your IP address when a page loads, and Kit may set cookies the form needs to work.

How we use it

We use your email address only to send you the newsletter, book news and any free content you signed up for. We never sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.

Our legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.

Who processes it

Our mailing list and sign-up form are provided by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which also emails you the free story. Kit stores your data on our behalf under its own GDPR-compliant terms.

Links to buy the book go to Amazon. Anything you do there is covered by Amazon's own privacy policy, not this one.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how it is used. Email Nathan@nathanhesketh.com and we will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
